What Is Styku

Real measurements, not just a number on the scale.

Styku is a 3D body composition scanner that captures a high-resolution image of your body in about 30 seconds. From a single scan, you get circumference measurements, body-fat and lean-mass estimates, and a posture snapshot you can revisit on every follow-up.

It matters because weight on a scale doesn’t tell you what’s changing underneath. Two people can lose the same 15 pounds and end up in very different places: one preserving muscle and losing fat, the other losing both. Styku makes that distinction visible.

Why People Scan
  • + 30-second non-invasive 3D scan
  • + Lean mass and fat mass estimates
  • + Posture and circumference tracking
  • + Critical baseline before GLP-1 protocols
  • + Repeatable for honest progress tracking

What Styku tells you the scale can’t.

01

Baseline Before Weight Loss

Before you start a weight loss protocol, GLP-1 medication, or peptide stack, a baseline scan captures where your lean mass, fat mass, and circumferences sit today. Without that baseline, you’re flying blind on what actually changes.

  • Captured before starting protocol
  • Documents lean and fat distribution
  • Repeatable comparison point
02

Fat Loss vs Lean Mass Loss

On GLP-1 medications, fat loss is the goal but lean mass loss is a real risk. A scan every 4 to 8 weeks shows whether your trajectory is protecting muscle or eroding it. Pair that data with a training plan and the protocol adjusts itself.

  • Distinguishes fat loss from muscle loss
  • Especially important on GLP-1
  • Drives smarter protocol decisions
03

Posture & Circumferences

The scan captures circumferences at consistent body landmarks and a postural overlay. Together they catch changes that don’t show up on a scale: a smaller waist with a stable hip, a postural shift after months of training, or the inch off your thigh that the scale misses entirely.

  • Consistent landmark measurements
  • Postural overlay over time
  • Granular change detection

If you’re losing weight, scan first.

GLP-1 medications like tirzepatide and semaglutide produce real, sustained weight loss. The catch: a meaningful share of that loss can come from lean mass if it isn’t protected. Styku makes that risk visible early.

Flying Blind

Without A Baseline

You see the scale drop and assume it’s working. But you don’t know whether you’re losing the right kind of weight, you can’t adjust early if lean mass is leaking, and you can’t document the win when you maintain muscle.

  • · Scale-only feedback
  • · Late detection of muscle loss
  • · Hard to tune the protocol
  • · No clear progress story
Make It Visible

With Styku Tracking

Baseline before you start. Re-scan every 4 to 8 weeks. The data tells you whether to adjust nutrition, layer in training, or shift dosing. Our weight loss and peptide protocols are built around tracking what’s actually changing.

  • · Real lean-mass tracking
  • · Earlier course corrections
  • · Better data for your provider
  • · Clear before-and-after evidence

How a Styku scan works.

01
Quick Check-In
Front desk confirms your appointment. First-time clients answer a few questions about goals and any prior scans.
02
Change & Prep
Form-fitting clothing or compression gear works best. Bulky fabric and zippers can interfere with the scan.
03
30-Second Scan
You step onto a slowly rotating platform and stand still while infrared sensors capture a high-resolution 3D model. That’s the entire scan.
04
Review Your Numbers
We walk through your circumferences, body-fat and lean-mass estimates, and posture overlay. If this is a follow-up, we compare against prior scans.

Most clients scan once at baseline, then every 4 to 8 weeks during a weight loss or peptide protocol.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about Styku 3D body composition scans at Defiant in Lisle, IL, serving Naperville and Chicago’s western suburbs.

Styku is a non-invasive 3D body scanner that uses infrared light to capture a high-resolution image of your body in about 30 seconds. From that scan, it generates circumference measurements, body-fat and lean-mass estimates, and a posture snapshot you can compare over time.
The scan itself takes about 30 seconds. With check-in, changing into form-fitting clothing, and a quick review of your results, plan on 10 to 15 minutes.
Weight on a scale doesn’t tell you what’s changing. A Styku baseline captures lean mass, fat mass, and circumferences before you start, so when you scan again 8 to 12 weeks in, you can see whether you’re losing fat, holding muscle, or losing both. That distinction matters, especially on GLP-1 medications. We cover this in detail in our protect muscle on GLP-1 guide.
Styku is a research-grade tool used in clinics, gyms, and academic settings. It’s highly repeatable when scans are done in the same conditions (same clothing, similar hydration, same time of day), which makes it especially useful for tracking change over time. It’s not a DEXA scan and not a clinical diagnostic, but for tracking progress it’s excellent.
A baseline scan is essential before starting any weight loss, peptide, or training protocol. After that, every 4 to 8 weeks is typical. Scanning too often (weekly) adds noise more than signal.
Form-fitting clothing without bulky layers or zippers works best. Sports bra and shorts or fitted compression gear are ideal. We’ll guide you when you arrive.
A single scan is $50. Many clients build it into their weight loss or peptide protocol so they can track progress over time.
Defiant is located at 5100 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, IL 60532, serving Naperville, Downers Grove, Wheaton, Bolingbrook, Lombard, and the western suburbs. Easy access from I-88 and Route 53.
Get Started

Set a real baseline.

Thirty seconds, real data, repeatable over time. If you’re starting a weight loss or peptide protocol, scan first. If you’ve been training without tracking, scan now so you have something to compare against.
